before their trip to parliamentto present their petition. all sparked after a school excursion to the orakau battle siteand rangiaowhia last year. the students were exposed to storiesof both colonial and maori bravery, sadness and victory, and want the nz warsto be commemorated annually with a statutory holiday. the support for the petitionthe girls say is widespread. the school supportingthe student's quest,
